Senior Electrical Estimator

Location: Lorton, VA

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year, based on experience, certifications, licensing, and qualifications

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team.

Position Overview

The Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and complete estimates for commercial electrical construction projects. This role works closely with suppliers, subcontractors, project management, and company leadership to develop competitive bids and support successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine project scope and estimate requirements
• Prepare complete project takeoffs and enter estimates into the estimating software system
• Review estimate calculations for accuracy and completeness
• Request pricing from suppliers for equipment and materials
• Identify qualified suppliers and subcontractors and solicit quotations
• Review quotes for completeness and compliance with plans and specifications
• Itemize and quantify materials, equipment rentals, tools, supplies, and subcontracted work required for bids
• Provide detailed bid reviews, including scope, technical requirements, and pricing, prior to submission
• Participate in project turnover meetings and communicate estimate details to Project Management
• Complete all required client documentation in a timely manner
• Prepare scope letters, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimates
• Maintain organized estimating files and supporting documentation

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects
• Experience using Accubid Classic or Accubid Enterprise
• Experience with LiveCount software preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and estimating systems

• Advanced knowledge of electrical estimating practices, construction technology, and industry methods
• Ability to identify and meet customer requirements and project expectations
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional communication and collaboration with clients, vendors, management, and field personnel
